24'x14' out building
Okay the rough size is as stated some more info is, its stuco mostly just studs on the inside with to interior walls to create a small garden work room, about 5'x6' didn't measure this as these two walls will be demoed. I am looking to put in a wall the full width about 6'-8' from the back side for storage for my wife. The rest of the building will be my work shop. The work shop will be insulated and heated/cooled. What I need help with is should I install a vapor barior? Should I install insulation in the storage area? The storage area has its own door and the work shop has two doors

Not sure about new mexico but here it is done, insulate part for the shop then another part uninsulated for storage.

I think that it is always better to insulate, it makes the space more comfortable even for the area you are not conditioning. Although I do not live in a dry climate, my understanding is that in a dry climate any moisture generated from the inside will easily vent out, therefore no vapor barrier. Also, you are not likely to generate the moisture in the shop/storage shed that you would in the residence.

well took another look, and it looks like i should redo the roof, its a tar with Lava rock, though not much lova rock left. So i am thinking that i will take all that off, and install a metal roof, and some roof vents and proper soffet vents since those were not installed with the soffets that were install. this same treament will eventuly go to the house as well. No atic vents there either.
