15 foot span of 2x8 floor

How much weight will this hold? Can this attic space be converted to a family room?

No. Not without changing to 2x10's 12" or 16" o.c. and adding a 3' wide set of stairs with handrail, and an egress window or door in the new room as per Code: http://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&q=...33otStRi7Aff7g
