15' by 15' freestanding patio cover


Yes want to to build a freestand 15x15 patio cover with metal roof no decking just rafters can I do it with just 4 corner post if so 4by4 or 6by6 post I am just going to frame it and the company that put my metal roof on is going to roof it all they said was get it framed up and call us. Also it would be 9' tall on one end and 8' on the other I am here in north alabama was going to use 2by6 for everything else and what type on anchor kit to use to bolt it down to my concrete patio. I really don't want no more than the 4 post if I can get by with it. Thanks for your replys

Have you considered how your Patio Cover will fare in a wind storm?
In April ,2011, 62 wind storms took 248 lives, injured more than 2000 people and severely impacted Alabama.

I advise you to get professional design opinion before attempting to construct what may become a 225 sq ft metal sail. You border on the Zone IV wind zone and you border on a Hurricane Susceptible Region.
