Your opinion on service quote
This is for a new construction (3 bedroom, 2 bath)
-200A underground service -150' from meter location to POCO pole -Power will travel under driveway for approximately 30' (i would prefer that entire run is in sch 80 conduit) -Western PA, 30 miles north of Pittsburgh airport I am responsible for: -Supplying service panel -Digging and back filling ditch -Inspection Contractor is responsible for: -All conduit -200' of 4/0 aluminum URD -meter socket & mounting -Mount panel & wire complete -All grounding -Supply all necessary breakers (approximately 30) Can anyone throw a number at me to complete this job? Thanks |
Why are you supplying the panel and why are you responsible for the inspection?
And WHY sch80 for the entire run?? |
I had initially planned on doing the service myself. A few other things came up so i started getting quotes. Since i already have it, i'd like to not waste the money i've already spent.
I'd like sch 80 because i'm going under a driveway and the ground is extremely rocky. Contractor said i am responsible for inspection. No reason. |

In my area we get on average $2000-2400 for a 200A service. Underground is another $6-8/ft. Then add about another $1000 or so to account for the 20 or so AFCI breakers you'll need. Don't forget the extra conduits for CATV and phone. |

I honestly cannot answer that question. Quote states that work is done to code and guaranteed to pass inspection. The Guy knew his stuff when he was here, so I'm cool with that.
After seeing speedy's reply, his price looks fair. |
