Wisconsin adopting NEC 2008 ?
 

Does anyone know any details on when Wisconsin is going to be adopting the NEC 2008 code cycle and if there will be any ammendments made such as Arcfault?

Myself and Jrclen we are wisconsin sparky here and yes we will adopting the 2008 NEC codes

AFCI - no it will push back to 2010

TR requirement it will push back until 2010

Sump pump - yes extempt but a gotcha is you still need to put a GFCI receptlae 3 feet from the sumppump receptale { the sumpump receptale must be singleplex }

The code will be enforced Feb 1 2009

Jamie I don't know if you can able get the COMM 16 if not let me know I will find a way for ya

To the readers the COMM 16 is our state electrical code

Unforetally in the garage everything have to be GFCI { both attached and detached }

I will have to dig up the rest of details of running change on the code.

{ I allready have a paperwork but not with me ATM }

But there one thing from now if any change with code we will pass along with ya


If Jrcren { John } read this and he can able fill it in as well I do not know if any other wisconsin electricians is here in this forum if so please do speak up here.

Thanks Marc. I will see if I can get my hands on a copy of COMM 16, I bet it is online somewhere.
Good to know about the delay on Arc Faults. That is going to be a costly one.
