Wiring up the living room ??

I have a question about tapping off an outlet circuit. The circuit is 5 recepticals, I want to tap off the end receptical to feed 2 recessed lights. One of the five recepticals is for the LCD Tv. Would I get line interference on the LCD from the recessed lights using those pigtail fluroescents. Or will this be Ok. By tapping off the outlet circuit I am saving about 40 feet of wire.

It is very hard to predict interference. The only answer I could give is maybe.

Is tapping off a receptical circuit to feed a couple of oddball recessed lights a practice that is done? Or should I just eat the 40 feet of wire and keep all the lights on the lighting circuits.

Sure, that is commonly done. I see no problem with your doing this. Watch your wire size, 12 for a 20A and 14 for a 15A circuit. I doubt very much that you will see any interference on the circuit from the fluorescent lamps. I have seen problems with fluorescent lamps in certain recessed fixtures.

It's all 12 /2, -20amp. The circuit is deff not overloaded, I only have the five recept. and two recessed light fixtures. Thanks guys, I will opt to save wire. Especially the price of wire these days.
