Ok... the other switch didn't have anything. I checked the other one and it has a ton of wires and splices in it. The switch is in the center of the room, to the left is the switched outlet and to the right is a regular outlet. In the switch box I have a red, white, and black wire running out the top, a black and white coming from the right, and a black and white going to the left.
From what I understand the black/white on the right is coming from the other always hot outlet, the red/white/black on top is going to a light somewhere (doesn't control anything I can find), and the white/black going to the left is going to the switched outlet. The way I need to wire it up is the black on the right and the black on the left along with a short jumper to the top of the switch, the white on the left to the bottom of the switch (new switched hot), the white on right to the white on the top, and cap off the red and the black on the top of the switch (indiviudally, not together). The switched outlet will have a redudent black now that I'll cap off.
The way it's wired right now is the black from the right to the top right of the switch, black of the left on the bottom right of the switch, and the red on the top left of the switch. The white on the right and the white on the left are connected together, and the black on the top and the white on the top are connected together.
