wiring smoke detector

trying to hard wire a smoke detector in the basement to a junction box that has a black,white and ground wire. I've run the same wire out of the box and i want to connect it to the three wires connecting to smoke detector.
the smoke detector has a red,black and white wire.
not sure what goes to what. house was built in 1953.

wiring smoke detector

The red wire is for interconnection of other smokes for simultaneous operation. Ignore the red wire for a stand-alone installation.
