I have a remote to wire on 3 way switch and can not seem to get it to work. Remote has black and white wire coming in, on remote out, I have, black, white, red, blue. On fan I have black, white, blue. ceiling box black, white, red.
You'll have to determine which wire (Black or Red) in the ceiling box is controlled by the wall switch. To do this, voltmeter between Black+White, and Red+White while operating the switch. Whichever wire controls power (120v) is the power wire.
Next, whichever wire didn't give power gets trimmed, capped, and tucked up in the ceiling.
Connect your "power in" white wire from the remote, to the white (neutral) of your ceiling box. Connect the power wire from ceiling box to the "power in" black wire of the remote.
Then, from the fan/light kit wires, connect the black to the black, the white to the white, and the Blue to Blue of the remote kit (all from the output side of remote).
Operate wall switch and remote to determine it works before final install.
Installation is the Reverse of Removal.
