I have built a new garage in my back yard and I want to use direct burial cable to power it, I have a 200 amp panel in my basement, I am putting a basic 6 breaker, 100 amp box in the garage. It is 24' X 24'. There is an existing tile underground in my back yard, not positive on the depth yet, what is the least depth I can bury my cable to power the garage?
If you can't get to the 18" or 24" depths, the NEC also permits Rigid Metal Conduit under 2" of concrete at 6" depth, and PVC under a 2" layer of concrete at 12" depth.
