Wiring Manual

Hi Guys and Gals

New to the Forum,,, looks great. I've use forums in my design job for several years, they have been a HUGE help.

I realize this has probably been asked a zillion times but can anyone recommend a good, SIMPLE electrical wiring book or manual for residential,,,, am attempting to wire a few recepticals and lights in a garage at this time and I do adhere to the KISS therory

Well, keep up the good work and thanks in advance for any help.

Wiring Manual

Home Depot Basic home wiring...that's the only one I can think of because I don't use one...just remember to kill any power first...work safe, and don't be stupid.

Wiring Manual

The black and decker I think its called "complete guide to home wiring" is much better I think. I bought one for a friend this passed christmas, I wanted it to be a good one so I looked at quite a few before settiling. That one seemed to be the most explanitory. He loves it. Uses it all the time. He had never done any wiring at all before this passed January.

Thanks J187,,, will look in to both of them,,,, plus I have a couple of Barnes and Noble gift cards, so the Black and Decker may what I'm looking for.

Wiring Manual

"Wiring Simplified" (Richter, Schwan, and Hartwell) and "Wiring a House" (Caldwell)

Wiring Manual

"Wiring simplified" is really good. I'd recommend that to anyone who wants a better understanding of wiring, and a quick reference for basic code questions and standard practices. I found it hanging in the section with wire nuts in my home depot. (?)

The Home Depot Wiring 123 book is useless in my opinion. It's all laid out in single tasks, and never really teaches you much about being an electrician. I guess if you're just wanting to replace switches or outlets or stuff like that, and have very little background, it might help, but for anything else the little 2-page glossy color layouts for "Installing a Service Panel" are totally useless. What a joke!
