Wiring to lights/switch/recep question?

This is how it is wired now but the switch only turns on one light. The other light works but just stays on. I tried to explain below. Am I missing a 14-3 between lights? If so how do you wire it?

Power....14-2....light....14-2....light....14-3....switch....14-2....receptacle.

Yes, you need 14-3 between the lights because you don't have enough conductors to provide a switched feed and a constant hot. It should go:

power-->14-2-->light-->14-3-->light-->14-3-->switch-->14-2-->receptacle.

Connect all the blacks from the cables together all the way through, as well as the whites and grounds. Pigtail off those blacks to the switch. Put the red on the other switch terminal. Wire the blacks from the lights to the red in the cables. The white at the each light ties to the white in the cables.

Black = hot, white = neutral, red = switch leg(s)
