Wiring humidifier to furnace

1 Attachment(s)
Installing a whole house humidifier on my furnace. A question on wiring the hot between fan control and furnace blower. Where to tie in to the new transformer?

Whats your question? Just make sure the humidifier only turns on when the fan is running on a call for heat.

Didn't get to write in my question before sent post.

From my diagram where do I tie into the L1 (hot) between the fan control and the furnace motor (to 24v transformer).Attachment 2696

Thanks

what does the humidifier directions tell you to do? and what exactly are you trying to tie into the L1? A relay? what brand/model did you buy?

okay I get it, your trying to have a transformer energized only on a call for heat to run the humidifier correct?

Yes , when heat/blower come on it'll tell the transformer to open the selanoid valve to allow water to the humidifier. Honeywell H8908B humidistat. Honeywell HE220A humidifier.

Is your furnace two speeds?

On multispeed blower applications, do not wire
the high voltage side of the transformer to the
same power source that services the furnace
blower. Premature transformer burnout can
occur.

I have the same unit BTW, but I have the automatic humidistat.

Most furnaces have a large enough transformer already installed, I would just come off of the "W" and "C" terminal to feed your humidistat then your humidifier.
