wiring detached garage

hi,
i am looking to put electricity into my new garage in the form of 1 double outlet socket,1 radiant tube light and 1 single 40 watt light.

the garage is about 4 feet from my house and i was wondering can i just run the double socket as a fused spurr and run the lights off the existing lighting circuit and if so is it best to use an underground conduit made of metal or plastic and can this be placed on the outside of my house wall as far as reaching the ground to be buried for the route to the garage?

many thanks.
