Wiring Code in Ontario

Hi,

I am building a new log house. Could someone please tell me what the electrical codes are in Ontario?

as for the wiring...get the sparky to coordinate with the carpenters to allieviate some of the crap. Log homes aren't the easiest thing to do. Use window and door frames for wire chases when possible and forget about changing anything once it's wired.

Wiring Code in Ontario

Would modern log homes still have 2x4 or 2x6 studs inside with drywall? I would imagine so, so it can be insulated. Then it would probably be same codes and techniques as any other house.

Asking for "wiring codes" is quite vague, if you are really not sure I would get someone to maybe give you a quick crash course so you know what you are getting into. For example, what size wire you need for what amperage breaker, the fact that junction boxes can't be hidden, breaker panel clearances and many many more.

That's too wide open a question. There are many special rules for kitchen counters, bedrooms(AFCI), laundry room, tamper proof receptacles are now required, GFCI requirements, fridge circuits, light circuits etc.

If you have a specific question ask it.
