Wiring a ceiling fan

Last year my wife purchased a Murray Feiss ceiling fan on eBay. Long story short she decided she didn't like it so I'm putting it up in the shop. Here's the issue. It was used so it came with no instructions. It has three wires coming out of the motor (white, black and blue). It was manufactured in 1997 and Murray Feiss no longer makes ceiling fans so I can't be sure which way it was wired. Any generals rules about colors that manufactorers might follow? Suggestions on how I should wire it? It will be the only thing on the circuit if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance.

White and black are normally for the motor. Blue would be for a light kit.
The fan you have may not have a light kit but most mfg's pre wire for them.

Just cap the blue with a wire nut and use the black and white for the motor.

Wiring a ceiling fan

That would be correct. Colors should match right up with your house wiring.
