Wiring a box with a switch and dimmer

I have a box with a switch and dimmer. I am replacing both, but failed to label my wires when I removed them(big mistake...).
The switch operates light 1, the dimmer operates light 2, and power gets passed out to another box with a switch for light 3.
I have four sets of wires coming into the box, only one set has a live black wire when not connected.
I also have a loose piece of black wire that I believe was used between the switch and dimmer.
I am not sure exactly how to rewire this set up.
Any suggestions??
Thanks in advance.

With 4 cables it sounds like power in, power out and the 2 cables to the two lights. Once you identify the hot should should be able to make the lights work by temporarily connecting one of the black to the hot and see which light now works. Repeat to find the second light. Only make any connections with the power off.

Thank You!
That sounds right.
So, Would I...
1.connect all four white wires together?
2.connect black going in with black going out to next box, along with a wire going to the switch and a wire from the dimmer?
3.Then connect the othe two black wires that come in from the lights to the switch and dimmer, respectively?

(and yes, I am making all connections with the power off :) )

Sounds right.

You should not have needed to make any changes to the white while replacing the switches.
