wiring 50a 220 line

I have a welder that I need a 50amp 220 service for. I already have 8/3 armored cable that is plenty long to make the run, however there is no ground wire. Is there no ground in this application? If I do need a ground can I run a green 8awg line with the BX for ground? I included a pic of the plug on the end of the welder.

Thanks for the input!

yes that plug needs a ground anytime you see a round prong it needs a ground but I am not sure about how to run it since I am only in school yet but i would think that you can't run it with the ac or mc seperatly.

Is your armored cable type AC? If so, you're in luck. The cable armor can be used as the grounding conductor. See the National Armored Cable Manufacturers Association FAQ.
