Wiring 3 switches with one home run.
I am wiring my theater room lights and not sure what the easiest way to do this would be. Should I run it into the 3 gang box and pig tail there?
The wall the switches are on is a divider wall between the theater and HVAC room (unfinished wall). I could put a junction box there and run my home run into it and then run 3 separate wires to the switches so my switch box wouldn't be so full.
What would be the best way?
I think I would pigtail in the switch box. If you use a separate junction box, you may make wiring the blacks easier, but:
- you now have a potential need to wire six white wires together. You could join each white supply with each white load, but that would defeat the purpose of having the junction box
- you now have an ungly access panel in your wall
I don't believe it much of a problem doing a pigtail in the switch box.
To the switchbox James!!!!!!
