Wires from attic to spot in the wall

im going to run speaker wire from wall in bedroom through the attic the back down into the other wall on the other side of the room.

How, when i am in the attic, do i figure out which wall i am technically standing over.

Look for tell-tell signs.
A/C vents are a good one.
Look for anything that is inside the room, that has to protrude into the attic.

so what your saying is it is basically just a guessing game to find the right spot.

No. If you have an A/C vent, measure from the edge of the vent to the wall you want to drill into.
When you get into the attic, find that vent, measure over, and you should find the top plate of the wall.
The sheetrock only covers the room you are in.
Once in the attic, you will see the top plate after you remove the insulation.

No, I don't believe that he said, or meant to say that at all; in fact, he pretty much said the opposite. Heating and cooling vents can be a good indicator, as can ceiling fans and lights, bathroom exhaust fans, waste vents, interior walls, etc. You may have to pull back some insulation, but a little investigation can put you right on the wall.

ok thanks, i misunderstood what you meant.

but what your saying makes sence now.
