Wiremold to Romex Transition

Hey All,

So I have a bedroom and a sunroom that share a common wall. The common wall is made of brick.

I'd like to tap into the bedroom outlet on the common wall as a power source for surface mount wiring in the sunroom.

All the Wiremold articles I have read have said you have to start the wire mold from an outlet already in the room. well as the room is all brick there isnt one.

Is it acceptable to bring a line from the bedroom outlet box use NM knockout clamps on this wiremold box to get things started?

Thanks everyone!

Don't even bother using the back put it over an existing outlet, you will need long 6-32's

I think he wants to enter this box from behind with a cable from the receptacle in the bedroom then extend off with wiremold.

This just dawned on me, I will not have enough clearance to use a clamp with my current plan because of the brick. the current alignment allows a straight shot through the mortar from the bed room outlet to the new surface mount outlet

Id have bore a fairly large hole to be able to recess the clamp...

Any alternative ideas?

Chisel out the hole and make enough room for the connector to recess in the hole. Be careful not to overdue it as the mounting holes are close to the connector.
