wire two light sconces from one wall switch

I have a large "builders" single wall sconce over the bath vanity. You know, the ugly 5 light hollywood type w/oversized bulbs. I want to have two separate decorative sconces so I can put one over each sink and put a cabinet-shelving in-between. It does not matter if they are controlled by the same wall switch and I do not want to rip out drywall (switch is 5 feet away and not accessable).
I have some knowledge of basic wiring and I know this is not too difficult to do but I want it to be right and have not done this before.
I can easily connect one light but how do I connect the first sconce to the second sconce safely?
Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Run a wire between the two lights.
At the second light, connect the black to black, white to white, and grounds together.
At the first light, wiring depends on how power comes from the switch to the light.
Turn the breaker off and pull the switch out and tell how it is wired.
