Will lowering a bulb wattage blow a fixture in line

I have a pool and spa light on one breaker. The spa light used a R20 100 watt bulb. It was way too bright for the size of the spa. I switched to a PAR20 50 watt bulb. Everything worked fine. I flipped it on and off a couple times as it got dark and suddenly the pool light stopped working but spa light worked fine. Thinking the pool light bulb blew, I pulled it out, tested both bulbs (MR16 75 watt) and they work. Its the fixture that isn't working. Could lowering the watts in another fixture blow a fixture on the same breaker? BTW, the breaker never tripped.

Complicated answer.......No.....

Simple answer........No.....

Sounds like something went bad at the most unlikely time. Just be careful working around the water.
