where's the juice?

attached garage, put on the air compressor,it starts gagging,as if it wants to start up, yet it may not have enough juice. it has done this in the past, sometime it will fire right, othertimes ,it may sputter. the point is ,that this day it would not turn over, and took out all the power in the garage area including, the wall outlets the abutt the garage. changed the fuse, didn't appear blown, still no power at that end of the house/garage. any ideas?

Heavy loads may have caused a connection to become loose or fail.

Try bleeding the air off, and see if it that makes any difference. If so, it's more than likely a bad check valve or unloader.

air compressor if possible should be run on 240v instead of 120v (some models you can choose 120 or 240V) so this don't happen, a compressor is very hard to start and some 120v draw over 40-50A on start-up
