What's this in the picture?


Alright, I know the boxes on the left are of course outlet boxes, but can someone tell me what, specifically, the open box is on the right? And what would this be used for? Thanks.

Looks like some type of low voltage connection.

A term strip is a glorified wirenut.

Is it under a cash register?

What's this in the picture?


Low voltage wring. Possibly for a door bell or buzzer. You will need to trace the wires and see what is on the other end.

I would suspect that this is under a cash register and is possibly for triggering a silent alarm. The greenfield and the isolated ground outlet are kinda a dead giveaway.
