I need a converter cable, but I cannot find the one I need. The cord I have (see attached image) obviously won't fit into the standard wall outlet.

WHAT TYPE OF CABLE DO I HAVE AND WHERE CAN I FIND A CONVERTER CORD FOR IT??

The cord is for a pump on my well system; the water in my family's home is hard and starting to smell.. please help!

Thanks so much!!!

That looks like a 220 volt plug not a 110.

Not sure what pluging in a well is going to have to do with hard water.
Do you have a water softner?

If the pump to the wells not pluged in how do you even have any water?

Looks like it's meant for a 20A 240V receptacle...where was it plugged in before?? I'm slightly confused.

250 volt / 15 amp. The plug is a NEMA 2-15P. It plugs into a NEMA 2-15R (like the receptacle Marc provided).

To the OP .,

The receptale you should have in your house look like this

http://www.plumbersurplus.com/images...358-228108.jpg

That is 15 amp 240 volt circuit.( this is 6-15 R )

If you do not have this please stop right there and posted back here quick we can tell you the correct way to do this.

Merci,
Marc

Could you perhaps tell us what the information plate on the pump says?

A "converter cord" won't work. This is a 15A/240V plug. It needs a 15A/240V circuit.
