What size ground wire do I need?

I am replacing a 100A old ZINSCO circuit breaker panel with a new SQUARE D 200 Panel. What size of grounding rod do I need and what size ground wire should I use?

2-5/8" x 10ft ground rods...at least 6 feet apart.

and.....(I'm hesitating because I'm only 95% sure on this one)........#4 grounding conductor....I think.

I've always driven the ground rods at an angle toward each other...and I hear laying them down is even better.

Your rods only need to be 8', all of which is in contact with the earth.

The conductor to the rod does not need to be larger than #6. It should not be subject to damage.

Six foot apart is the minimum, more is better.

#6

So close, lol. I guess if I'm going to be "off" oversized is better than undersized.

I always run #4 to the rods. That way I don't need to keep two reels on the truck.

I hope you are not just replacing the panel. I hope this is a service upgrade.
