What kind of wire is this?

I rewired my house about two years ago. The way I rewired it was I built two additions on to my house and added a new 200 amp service and main panel. my buddy gave me the wire which is from around 1988 which is why it's not color coded. Anyway, in the first picture is my main panel which the wires go up through the floor up the wall and up to the attic, over to the other side of the house and back down into the old part of the house which I kept the old fuse panel and the existing lines connected and just wirenuted my new wires to the old for now so i have power in the old part of the house until I can get around to completely rewire the old part. Some of my circuits for the other addition juction in here too which I have connected to multi branch circuits. I know the armored cable is bx but what is the green sheathes cable. I thought green cable was aluminum but I don't remember seeing aluminum.

That green sheathed cable looks a lot like the Romex I have in my house, which dates to 1959.

Yeah that's exactly when the old part was built. I just verified that its copper wire but I've never seen green cable except for aluminum wiring. I actually need to replace it soon because alot of the sheathing is cracked cause its rubber and I just don't like old wiring. I wanted to replace it when I rewired but I just didn't have the time and money and I have lath and plaster and didn't want to mess with that at the time so I just temporarily hooked up the old to new

I've seen that in a lot of houses around here that were built in the 1960s. I've only seen it in Copper.

And this wire also has a ground. I thought they didn't come out with an equipment ground until later

1956 NEC they started requiring grounding receptacles, all wiring methods probably followed that same time frame.
