I have a chandelier with an unusual mount. There are three notches, (see pic), evenly spaced around a cylindrical structure, which are supposed to attach to another structure with three screws sticking out of it.
The three-screw structure anchors into the ceiling box and protrudes out slightly to allow the chandelier to attach to it. However, a former tenant threw away the three-screw structure when he removed the chandelier to replace it with one of his own--with out permission of course. So now, I am stuck with a seemingly un-mountable chandelier.
The diameter of the chandelier attachment structure is 5.5-inches.
Is anyone familiar with this style of mount? What is the missing three-screw structure called? Does this type of mounting have a name?
Any suggestions on how I should proceed would be greatly appreciated!
