Weatherheads and Overhangs

I've been searching around and am a little unsure about the allowable distance that the top of weatherhead to bottom of overhang is. Does 12" cover it? Thanks in advance for any info.

There is nothing (that I could find) in the NEC.
You could put the weatherhead right up underneath the overhang. The point of attachment would have to be placed so that the service drop clears the overhang, and provides the necessary clearance above the ground.

However, you need to check the rules of your local POCO. (power company) It is possible that they have requirements.
