I have the fixture plugged into a ballast with a small MH bulb. Its been working great and I'm pretty mechanically/electrical inclined. I'm a maintenance tech. The fixture has no markings and the bulb has no markings. They got some age on them. I'm worried about premature failure of any new bulb I buy because I don't know exact wattage. If I clamp on and get amperage and I know the volts can I figure wattage.

If you figure wattage dont forget ballast loss.

Take it to your local supply house they should be able to eyeball it. (we do it alot and it works out well) Theres ways to figure it out but it would take forever to explain.
