Question

water heater on 100 amp pannel?


i have (2) 100 amp service pannels. My current hot water is fed from the boiler on my furnance. i want to install an electric water heater but dont understand i f i can put a 240volt water heater into a 100 amp servive pannel?

Certainly you can. Provided the service load is not at or near capacity.

Brett,
I'm no pro Like Speedy, just an old DIYer.
If your panel can handle it, you need to install a 30 amp 240v breaker with 10/2-with-ground wiring to the water heater.
