Wanting to get My House rewired

I have a 100+ year old Home, and I can do alot of Stuff around the House, But Not Electrical. I was wanting to also upgrade the Pannel to 200 amp service. But I have no Idea what is a Good price, I live in a 2 story home and the pannel is in the basement, I also thought I would add some outlets in each room, as it seemed most older homes just had maybe 2 in a room. Just looking for some Info, On fair prices, I realise it would be a Big job, and I also no there in the bizz to make money, I just dont want to be rapped. So any info you can share, as what to ask them or brands of Pannels. Some of the wireing has been changed out over time to 12/2 romex. Or if your in the area, and want to bid on the Job? Elwood Indiana.

Make a list of what you want done. Everything. Make three copies and give one to each licensed insured electrician or electrical contractor that can meet the requirements to bid the job. Have them come out and take a look. Stay away from general contractors as they sub out the work and you will need to verify both.
Do not go on price alone. Talk with each electrician and take some notes. You could post those notes here if you want or you can use your gut feeling. Its not easy to pick the right guy, the first time, every time. Maybe you could ask around and make sure you get some referrals. Good luck.
