Using 12-2-2 for multiple runs

So after reading about 12-2-2 I'd like to use it for a couple of runs, and I just wanted to make sure that my plan is ok. Basically for each bedroom I'm going to have 2 circuits, one for receptacles and one for lights, so I thought I'd run one 12-2-2 to the first receptacle and break the 2nd leg off for the switch (above) and continue on. Anything I need to take into consideration? I'm going to make sure I have enough space inside the junction box to house 3 circuits, and continue the single ground wire to the next outlet (I assume there is just 1 ground wire in 12-2-2).

The main benefit as I see it is for long runs if I'm going to have multiple circuits at the end of the run, but just didn't know if there was gotchas besides the space in the junction box issue? I assume I can just break them out into separate breakers in the panel. Each room will have a 20 amp receptacle circuit for window a/c units, but 12-2 is probably overkill for a single bedroom's lighting circuit (plus ceiling fan), but I'd rather just stick with 12-2 instead of switching to 14-2 for consistency.

It's also kind of a pain to find, so far no home depot or lowes, so I guess I'll have to stop by an electrical supply house, which I'm thinking cost wise may be a more than home depot/lowes?

Thanks, Bill

12-2-2 cable costs $220 at Home Depot. 12-2 costs $75 (both 250' rolls.

Cheaper to go with a roll of 14-2 and a roll of 12-2.

cheaper to just run one circuit for two bedrooms, all on 14 AWG.
