under cabnet lighting not working

I installed under cabnet lighting about 6 months ago. Now one of them is not working. I feel it is too soon for the bulb to go out. (floresent) My question is do you think the bulb went out or is it something else before i start buying new things try and repair them.

Just take the bulb out of one of the other lights and test it. If it comes on, it's the bulb.

that would be nice if it were that simple. It just so happens it is the only one that does not match the others.

Just buy a new bulb. They're cheap, and you can always use it later if the problem turns out not to be the bulb.

On the other hand...

If the fixture uses electronic start (which most do), then you could have a fried starter circuit. That would mean you have to replace the whole fixture.
Unfortunately, the electronic start is a lot more susceptible to surges/spikes. It took a lot to knock out the old starter and ballast in the older models, but today, all you need is one good lightning storm.

Did this lamp stop working after a storm?

If it were I, I would buy the new bulb first, and go from there.
