Type of cable for exterior light.


I am going to be installing a back door in my basement and want to also install an outside light on the wall by the door. The wiring would be run inside the house and in the wall up to the the electrical boxDoes this require outdoor wiring or can I use regular indoor 12-2 romex?

regular romex will do as long as it is not exposed to the elements
