two switches, two sets of lights one power source

This is the layout that I'm looking to accomplish. Two lights connected to a two gang switch box connected to two more lights. One switch controlling the first set of lights, and the other switch controlling the second set of lights. The power is coming from the light with 12-2. Only the first light is wired so I'll be running all the necessary cable.

Just tap off of the "always on" line power of the first switch, wire it to your new switch and install the new lights. Not really sure if you're asking more than that?

Run an additional 12-2 cable from the light box where the power comes in down to the switch box. (Or use 12-3 cable to connect those items).

The rest of the stuff including the second group of lights is wired up with single 12-2 cables.

The black wire of the additional cable (or the red if a 3 wire cable) is the raw power feed for the switches. The white of the additional cable (or white of a 3 wire cable) is the neutral for the second group of lights.
