track lights in bathroom

is it a bad idea, for some reason, to have track lights in the bathroom ? my ceiling is about 83" high. they go down to probably less than a foot below the ceiling.

thx,

Track light cannot be less than 3' horizontally and 8' vertically from the rim of the tub, or edge of the shower.

dude, 8' vertically from the tub is too nazi ? are you sure this is enforced ?

how about the kitchen ? how far do they have to be from the sink, if there is a regulation there ?

I remember seeing a diagram that illustrates that, however I don't remember where I saw it, but it did indicate what john was saying, no closer that 3 feet horizontally and no closer than 8 feet vertically.

Personally I wouldn't install track lighting in a bathroom.

The 8 foot is so that no one stands on the rim of a filled tub to change a bulb and removes themselves from the gene pool.

Although with logic like that maybe it would be a good thing.

The most common photo it was illusted by Mike Holt and it did show very clear photo but unforteally I did not bookmark that one.

Yeah other guys hit on the nail with it.

It have to be 2.4 metre from edge of bathtub.

Merci,Marc
