Track Light Can Trips Circuit When Rotated

In my office, I have track lighting- 7 cans on 2 switches, CFL's. When rotaing one can to redirect the light, it kept tripping the breaker. Now the bulb won't light. What is the problem?

Track Light Can Trips Circuit When Rotated

Probably a broken wire inside the fixture that shorted out (and tripped the breaker). It might just be cheaper to buy a new one than to monkey around with fixing it; I think the last track light cans I bought were 8-10 dollars. To fix you need to have the cloth covered wire that is suitable for the heat produced in the can. Its possible the wire just simply came loose from the back of the socket and then shorted out, but it sound more like a broken wire.

Track Light Can Trips Circuit When Rotated

I should not get a new can because all seven cans should match.

I am trying to take the can off. I've removed three screws and the trim. I cannot figure out how to get the can off. There is only a slot in it from which it hangs from a stem.

Any suggestions?
