is this too much


ok I just reinstalled the T-stat as the instruction say the two red wires going to the 12-2 black and white wires and the two black wires from the t-stat go to the heater I check the voltage I got 120 to each red turned it on got 120 off of each black going to the heater butt still no heat ?

How is the wire connected at the panel?

How are you getting 120V? Are you measuring each hot wire against the ground?

yes and on both sides of the T-stat.........................I still think this heater is bad

It might be. If you are getting 240V between the white and black at the feed and the heater still isn't working then it probably is bad. Have you seen this instruction sheet:

yes I went to their web site and saw that and that is exactly how I have it hooked up but NO HEAT ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
what so frustrating about this is I was think if this one works out I could put a few more in but now ...............

what so frustrating about this is I was think if this one works out I could put a few more in but now ...............
One more thing I can think of. Check the other end of the heater. Make sure the black wires are wire nutted together like the picture. Can you just exchange it?

already checked that this morn and they are I just bought it at lowes the other day so I dont see a problem with takeing it back so I think thats what I will do let you know later if that takes care of it

well got back from Lowe's a bit ago traded the heaters out got it all installed and I still have the same problem voltage to the T-stat turn it on voltage out but no heat ? I am at my end with this thing



OK I was sitting here hoping someone would chime in and got to thinking about the breaker it the only thing I haven't change so I took the double pole off attached the black wire to one Single pole and the with to another single pole breaker and now this heater is pumping heat just like it suppose to can anybody tell me why.I had voltage to it with the double and it didn't work but it dose with singles ??????

I'm sure it is something simple. If you can get some pictures of the connections(breakers, t-stat) posted, I'm sure we could get it figured out.

What is the model number of the two pole breaker that you had? Are you sure it was a two pole and not a tandem? A tandem would show 120V between the black and ground and the white and ground but nothing between the white and black. Just curious.

it says crouse-hinds no-4.181094 I think (my eyes arent what they used to be) it also says 120/240 double pole so?????
I do know that the heater is working great now so I may just put more in

Sounds like the breaker was right so it may just have been bad. Glad to hear everythings working.
