Tips on Running Coax

Any tips on running coax from a living room on the first floor down to the basement? My basement is finished and I tried to poke coax through an AC vent, but am having the toughest time. This vent has flex ducting to the primary duct.

I tried taping the two coaxes together to make it a bit stiffer, tried running fish tape, etc. Not working.

I'm considering tying a string to a plastic bag and using my electric blower and trying to blow it down the vent into the main duct where I can hopefully reach it and then use the string to pull the coax through..

I'd rather not cut through drywall. It looked so simple at first.

Fishing in finished spaces is a pain in most situations. Other than cutting the drywall and using the unforgiving fishtape, you might also want to try fish stix- fiberglass rods used for fishing wires. These are in the electrical section of home centers by Ideal, Greenlee or GB.

Run it outside. Seriously.
