Is there a limit to how many Romex can go through through one hole?

is there a limit to the number of 12/2, 14/2 or combination of the two, that can run through one hole in a floor joist?

For my project, I need to run three 12/2 through one hole, it looks large enough to pull through without forcing it, probably a 3/4" hole...

On the same subject how about 3 wire, does it make a difference if the hole is big enough to get the wire through without damaging it?

You can 3, 14-2/ 12-2 or combination thru the floor joist. I limit 3 romex wires thru a hole. When going thru a fire rated assembly such as a fire stop, you are limited to only 3 romex cable, do to derating of the conductors.
Regular floor joist ther is not that problem, even though some inspectors will say that more than 3 would be bundling.

That's good news, need to run one 12/2 through existing hole, saves me a lot of hassle.

Thanks njmarine!

You can run up to four 14/2 or 12/2 cables through a hole. You can also run four 14/3 or 12/3 cables through a hole. But watch mixing 3 and 2 wire cables in the same hole.
All responses based on the 2011 NEC.
