tandem question

I have an old Cutler Hammer panel, model # CH12P designed for CH style breakers. Can I swap out a breaker for a tandem "twin" CH breaker? Thanks in advance.

You'll have to look on the panel cover's data sheet (if still there and legible) and see if it's designed to take a type CHT breaker, if not no, if yes, then yes.
