switching low voltage lighting
 

I am planning to set up some 12V landscape lighting and I would like the convince of using a standard light switch on the side of my shed to control it.

So, can I plug the transformer into the switched half of a split switched receptacle for on and off? Also, this branch is protected by a gfci further upstream. Would that interfere with this idea? Thank you.

I believe this to be a great idea. I can think of no reason why it would not work.
