switch plate covers

I know well about oversize switch plate covers as I have cut out and replaced most of the boxes in my plaster walls. ( I think they'll go away the next time we repaint and do a little plaster repair)

I was wondering if there is such a thing as a somewhat deeper cover to go over a box that sits slightly proud from the wall?

Handy,
What kind of boxes do you have? If they are bakolite (spelling?) or plastic, you could stick a rubber sleeve sander in a drill and grind the edge down to flush.

The Trademaster series of plates from Pass and Seymour/Legrand are deeper than a normal plate and should help your situation.

Did you remove the ears from the devices so they will drop into the recess of the old work tab?
