The wall switch in my bedroom controls one outlet. Unfortunately, it isn't in a good location for a lamp. I believe there are devices that I can plug into this outlet (and another outlet) that will then allow the second outlet to be controlled remotely.
So, right now, the switch controls outlet A.
If these devices actually exist, this is how I think they would work.
I would plug a remote control device into outlet A. I would then plug a second device into outlet B and plug the lamp into this device. When I use the switch, the device in outlet A is activated and sends a signal to the device in outlet B. When this device receives the signal, it powers on the lamp.
Has anyone heard of this and if so, what are the devices called?
