Switch with light?

I've done beginner wiring (switches, sockets, etc.) and came across this:

Now, does the light go ON/OFF as you flip the switch? Or is it an indicator that the switch is getting power?

How would this be wired?

It can be wired a number of ways. It can be on when the switch is on, it can be on when the switch off, but off when the switch is on, or it can be on all the time.

Switch with light?

I'd like the light to be on when the switch is turned on. I think I know how to wire it but don't want to guess at something like this.

Switch with light?

That switch requires a neutral, so before you go unwiring everything, determine if there is a neutral wire in the box (dont be confused with a white wire going to the switch, thats a hot supply)

Switch with light?

well it's going to be a new circuit straight from the box, so there will be a definite neutral wire.
