ah that's good to hear.

my question, since i havent done this before.

the best chord i found was a simple #14 6' extension chord. can i simply just cut into it and splice it at the dishwasher's junction.... or do i need to do anything special? I assume the chord will have the basic 3 wires - white/black/ground. am i assuming wrong?

someone earlier mentioned bushings - havent found anything yet to support that.

i'll look this information up on my own in time. just figured i'd bounce my confusion off you guys since you've been such a tremendous help so far.

Lowe's should have something like this. I would have provided a link to a Lowe's product, but their website is down for maintenance right now.

switch to garbage disposal question

Permits & Inspections are usually required for ALL electric work
It may not be legal for you to do your own work, Check with your local Building Dept
Quoted from NEC- National Electric code 2008
Question;
Does the above mean that the fact that he is doing the cord/cable himself is in fact illegal?

rewired it correctly with a plug outlet and a "disconnect" cable.
