Switch Controlled Outlet

I have an outlet in my room that is only hot when I flip a switch on the wall. I have been in places before where the switch only controls the bottom half of the outlet and the top is hot constantly. Is there a way I could do this to my current outlet?

Thanks!

Switch Controlled Outlet

Not if there are only two wires coming into the box, one wire attached to each side of the receptacle (outlet) unit.

Turn off the breaker and pull the receptacle out. Tell us all the wires connected to it and to each other in the back of the box.
