Swimming Pool Light
I disconnected my pool light last year, prior to disconnecting it the pool light was working.
The thing now is, I forget which wires go where.
I disconnected the wires from the main supply box, Black, White, Green. These wires are running to the GFCI unit that is located about 40 feet from the pool.
Anyway this is what happened to me yesterday when I tried to hook the wires back up that are coming from the GFCI to the Electrical main supply box.
As I was saying I connected the black wire to the trip switch, I know this one should be connected to this because I remembered to mark this one, I thought I marked them all but I guess not.
Anyway I connected the black with to the trip switch, I connected the green wire to ground, now knowing where the White one goes is my problem.
And here is why, I plugged in a light bulb to the GFCI to test it and then hit the white wire off what I thought was the neutral wire, a heavy white wire, anyway the bulb got fried, so thinking that there may be something wrong with the bulb, I tried another and again fried the bulb.
Being from Europe, I am not 100% on the USA systems but on the European systems I do ok, pretty much the same.
Any help would be much appreciated
The trial and error method of troubleshooting electrial systems will get someone hurt or killed. If you are not sure what you are doing, call a pro. The life you save might be your own.
